My story

H

ey, I’m Chloe — neonatal nurse, student midwife, doula, childbirth educator, and the heart behind Enlightened Mama. I’m also a mum to two girls (3 and 6), and just like many of the women I support, I’ve navigated the chaos, beauty, and big emotions that come with pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. I love slow mornings, sunshine, good coffee, and booking our next travel adventure whenever we can.

My background is in neonatal and mental health nursing, and I’m currently completing my midwifery studies and working towards becoming an IBCLC, so I can continue supporting women with feeding and newborn care in a more holistic way.

Enlightened Mama began as a way to offer the kind of support I wish every woman had—individualised, connected, evidence-based, and deeply empowering. After seeing the gaps in our system and the one-size-fits-all approach in many mainstream courses, I stepped into creating my own offerings that blend evidence and intuition, while still being accessible and affordable.

Now, I support women across Australia—virtually and in person—through doula care, private antenatal classes, women’s circles, mama blessings, and wellness events that nourish more than just the physical.

Going virtual has allowed me to connect with more women while also being present with my family—whether I’m making lunchboxes, renovating our old home in the Riverland, or planning our next getaway.

I believe in holding space for women to feel heard, supported, and confident in their choices. Whether you’re planning your first birth, preparing for postpartum, or just want a calm, grounded voice in your corner—I’m here.

My mission & philosophy

My mission is to walk alongside women and their families through the powerful and transformative seasons of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—offering gentle guidance, grounded education, and unwavering support. I want every woman I work with to feel informed, nurtured, and truly seen.

I believe birth is one of the most significant shifts a woman will ever go through.

It is deeply emotional, spiritual, and transformative. At the same time, birth is a normal physiological process—something your body was made to do. Sadly, in today’s system, it is too often managed and medicalised in ways that can leave women feeling disconnected from their own power.

I’m here to be a calm, continuous presence through that transition—whether you’re becoming a mother for the first time or navigating birth again.

I offer practical, evidence-based information, emotional support, tools, and techniques to help you prepare in a way that aligns with your values and vision.

While I’m deeply passionate about physiological birth, I believe there’s no single “right” way to birth. Every journey is unique. My role is to support you in making informed, empowered decisions that are right for you—whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or anything in between.

I believe the postpartum period is just as important as birth itself. Mothers deserve time to rest, heal, and bond with their babies—surrounded by care, not left to figure it all out alone.

What I Stand For

  • Being the continuity of care that so many women crave but rarely receive

  • Helping women understand and stand strong in their birthing rights

  • Giving birthing people and their partners the confidence to advocate for themselves

  • Supporting women to feel powerful and in control—not fearful—through birth

  • Creating a postpartum experience that is nurturing, supported, and connected

  • Ensuring no woman feels alone or like she must adapt her birth choices to fit the system
